Our Naborly Application is designed to allow potential tenants to quickly fill out an online application and provide all the necessary documents and information all in one go. Note that the Application can be filled out on a desktop or on mobile.
This article describes the different sections of the Naborly Application and how to properly fill them out.

1. Save Application and Create An Account
In order to save an application's progress and to successfully submit it, each applicant will need to create their own Naborly account.
Click on Save at the top of the Application. You will see this box appear:
Once you click "Create Account", enter your email and password twice, and click "Sign Up."
If you have an existing Naborly account, you can simply click "sign in".
Once the email and password are filled out, a Naborly account is created!
2. Personal Information
Each applicant will be asked to enter all basic information into the application, including their name(s), birthdate, phone number, email, and biography (optional).
Note: One application is intended for only one applicant. Each applicant will need to fill out their own application.
3. Rental Property
The applicants will need to fill in the rental property information for the property they are applying to, including the address, type of housing, and lease and rent details. If you have received the invitation via email, most of this page will be automatically filled out by the landlord/property manager.
Note that you should put the total monthly rent for the unit, as well as your share of the monthly rent ("how much are you paying of the monthly rent").
On this page, applicants are asked who else will be living in the property with them. This includes roommates, dependents and pets/animals. They can add as many occupants as they want.
If an applicant selects "Yes" to any of the questions, they will need to fill out additional information regarding the other occupants, including their name, relationship details, and share of rent.
For pets, applicants can indicate the age, type, and breed of the pet/animal as well.
5. Current Address
Applicants will be asked to fill out information on their current primary place of residence, including the address, reason for moving, and lease details.
The potential tenants will also need to answer about their previous history with properties and convictions from the past 7 years.
6. Previous Addresses
In this section, applicants are asked to provide details of their previous rental properties/places of residence, including the address, reason for moving, and lease details. Although there is an option for multiple entries, previous addresses are not required, as some applicants may be moving away from their primary residence for the first time.
Note: To remove the previous address sections, applicants can simply select the red "X" located on the upper right side of each pane.
7. Current Income Sources
This section deals with the applicant's current income sources. After pressing the dropdown menu, there will be multiple income source types to choose from ranging from "Employed - Full Time" to "Savings/Investments". Once a selection has been made, additional information regarding that income source will be required, including the employer/provider's name and annual income details.
The same will need to be done for adding any additional current sources of income. Any that are not needed can be discarded by pressing the red "X" on the right side of the pane. Note that you won't be able to delete the first primary income source that you inputted.
Applicants will also be asked additional information regarding their current income status.
Note: Providing the Social Insurance / Security Number is completely optional and up to the discretion of the applicants.
8. Previous Income Sources
Applicants who had previous income which they no longer receive may wish to display that information here. The process will be similar to that of "Current Income Sources" above.
Applicants who own or lease a vehicle can provide additional information regarding their vehicle, including the monthly payments involved. They will also need to provide their means of transportation to and from work.
If the applicant declared a pet/animal, they can upload a picture of them in this section, ensuring that the photo is clear and recent. This section will not come up if pets were not declared.
Now that all the information has been filled out, applicants need only provide documentation before the final submission. The first document that needs to be submitted is their ID document. This document must be a valid government-issued piece of ID that is not expired, shows their image, date of birth, birth name. These can come in the form of Driver's License or Passports, for example.
Applicants will have the option of either browsing for their document on their device by clicking "Browse Files" or by dragging and dropping the file from their device into the designated section.
After locating the proper document, the application will ask the applicant to self-evaluate whether the document will pass verification checks. Once all checks are filled, the "Upload Picture" button will be highlighted, enabling applicants to upload the document. Applicants will see a green check for them as confirmation.
In the income sub-section of Documents, applicants will need to provide an income document for each of their different income sources. The type of income source will have varying types of income documents that will need to be matched to their corresponding income. Similar to the identity documents, applicants are free to drag and drop to the respective box, or "Browse Files" on their device for the appropriate documents.
13. Payment Information
Applicants will be presented with this page once they get to the payment section. They will be asked to provide their credit card details for the Naborly Passport subscription in order to submit their application. Please note your payment page might look different if the landlord has asked for you to pay the fee.
Review & Submit
14. Review and Submit Your Application
Finally, we have reached the last page where the applicant will view a summary of their completed application. Any missing required information will be highlighted in red and will need to be addressed before submitting.
Once any issues have been resolved, the applicant must agree to the terms of submission before the "Submit Application" button will become highlighted and clickable. Once the application is submitted, a green checkmark confirming the application was submitted will appear.
