If you are Self Employed, please follow the advice below to correctly state your income and provide verifiable income documents.
1. In the Financial Information section of the Application, please select Self Employed from the Income Source Type drop-down menu.
2. In the Documents section, you will be required to upload two different income documents to help us verify that you are Self Employed and that you have current income.
Important: between these two documents they must be able to prove:
- You work for the company. One of the documents must show your name and the company name together to prove that this is your company / the company you are contracted to
- The total income that you stated in your application
- You have received income in the past 30 days
We will require one of the documents to be an official document from a third party. Here are some examples of document pairing options that have been successful in the past:
- Recent contract invoice + Recent full monthly bank statement showing that invoice amount deposited
- Recent full monthly business banking statement + Business license showing that you own this business
- Employment contract + Recent full monthly bank statement showing the agreed upon amount deposited
- Recent full monthly business banking statement + Tax document from the previous year, showing your annual income
Unfortunately we cannot accept self-written letters of employment, or internal business tracking documents (ie. excel spreadsheets). You should also avoid uploading two invoices as these are also considered self-made documents. If you want to include an invoice, make sure it can be backed up by a more official document (ie. bank statement or employment contract)
